What should I expect?

Henna can be applied anywhere on the body and is applied on clean sanitized skin where the paste hardens as it dries. Once the paste hardens, a mixture of lemon juice and sugar can be applied to the design to help darken the stain and keep the paste on for longer.

How long should I leave the Henna to dry?

You should leave the paste on for at least 4-6 hours but it is recommended that you leave the paste on as long as possible (overnight if possible). The longer the paste stays on the skin, the darker it will get. It is best not to allow any water on the area for at least 6-12 hours.

How to I remove the Henna paste?

When the Henna dries, scrape the paste off (don’t wash it off, use lemon juice or olive/corn oil to help remove residue) and try not to wash for at least 12 hours for maximum colour.

The Henna design should last up to 2-4 weeks but varies to person to person.

The design will first look orange but will darken to a brownish-red colour. It is normal for the stain not to be very dark on some skin tones.

Where can Henna be applied?

Traditionally Henna is applied on hands, feet, ankles, shins and wrists.

Henna stains best on thick skin which is why it is applied on the above areas.

How long will my Henna stay on my skin?

The Henna should last up to 2-4 weeks but varies person to person.

What can I do to help my Henna to stain darker?

Leave the paste on as long as possible.

Henna likes heat so the warmer the body temperature the better! If you are cold, drink something hot before you start.

You could wrap the area in which Henna has been applied to conserve the heat and moisture.

Will Henna stain my clothes?

Henna is a natural dye and it will stain any clothing, textiles or furniture.

What if I have allergies?

If you have a nut allergy it is suggested that Henna is not applied because we can not guarantee that the product’s sources and its ingredients have not been in contact with nuts.

Henna|FX is not responsible for any allergic reactions caused to its clients for use of its products or 3rd party products.

What if I have a skin condition?

If you have skin conditions such as Eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, acne, open wounds or general broken or sensitive skin it is not recommended that you apply Henna.

What are the ingredients used?

Henna (Lawsonia Inermis)
Lemon Juice
Sugar
Tea Extract
Pure essential oils: Cajeput oil, Tea tree oil and/or Lavender oil

Can children have Henna done?

We will apply Henna to children above 5 years or age but any children under the age of 13 need a consenting adult to be present during the application.
